# GET /v2/leagues/popular

Group: Discovery

The source’s own pick of a sport’s popular leagues for a visitor’s country, in its order — the home country’s leagues and the big international competitions first. Made for a “top leagues” menu.

Note: Race sports and MMA have no list (an empty array). To sort any other list of leagues, use LeagueRef.priority where it is set.

## Parameters

| `sport` | query | yes | a sport slug from /v2/sports |
| `country` | query | no | the visitor’s two-letter country code (TR, GB, US, …; case-insensitive). Default: the source’s international list |

## Response

- `data`: `LeagueRef[]`
- `meta`: sport, country (null without one), count
- Objects: LeagueRef (https://sportsapi.app/markdown/en/reference.md#leagueref)

## Errors

- 400 bad_request — sport missing or unknown, or country not two letters
